Fighting Chance Signs Andrew Buchanan
North East Boxing Promotion Fighting Chance have finally signed Local boxing hero Andrew Buchanan (10-2-0) bringing him into their ever increasing stable of local boxing contenders joining the Dickinson brothers Travis and Jon Lewis, Craig Dixon and Paul O’Hagan.
Andrew was stoked to have joined the modern Newcastle boxing management team seeing it as a major step in a decorated career in the ring.
The official press release states…
“Andrew Buchanan will be weeks from his 35th birthday when he returns to the ring at Gateshead Leisure Centre on February 7 but his new coach thinks the middleweight will have plenty in the tank. Buchanan is the latest signing to the Fighting Chance stable, reuniting him with his former Birtley coach Ronnie Rowe.
Rowe said: “It’s absolutely brilliant Andy’s come on aboard,.
“With fighters it’s often how many fights they’ve had and how shop-worn they are.
“Andy’s only had 10 so I believe he’s fresh.”
Buchanan, who took a break from the sport between 2002 and 2013 added: “I had a stagnant 2014 and I do not have a lot of time left to fight so I want to make the most of it.”
