Travis Dickinson – Redemption on Nov 8th
On November the 8th (less than 2 weeks) we see the north easts own Travis Dickinson #3 take on Bob Ajisafe #2 for the second time. The bout being rescheduled from October 4th due to an injury to Ajisafe. The two ranked #3 and #2 in England respectively will square off for the second time after Ajisafe beat the previously undefeated Dickinson via unanimous decision in December 2012. The winner will take the British light heavyweight boxing title home currently held by Ajisafe, and win the final of the maxi nutrition knockout tournament.
For Dickinson it’s much more than that. It’s about bringing the belt home to Durham and wiping the slate clean. I caught up with Travis and asked him what’s going to be different from the last fight and what’s motivated you to train so hard for the fight with Bob?
“Revenge, short and sweet”
Dickinson has taken no shortcuts in training and promises there will be no repeat in history come the 8th. On his way to the final he beat Danny McIntosh and Matty Clarkson, both by way of TKO. Any boxing fan will of heard of the fight between him and Matty Clarkson as it was fight of the year candidate, and for good reason. After being dropped 3 times by nasty body shots Dickinson scraped himself from the canvas to TKO Clarkson after a gruelling display of heart by both fighters. Dickinson proved he has the heart of a lion and the will to win no matter what comes his way.
Dickinson predicted he would face Ajisafe and admitted it’s what he wanted. No doubt we will see a fired up Travis Dickinson. And if his last fight is anything to go by it promises to be a great fight. Will he bring another belt back to the northeast? Find out on 8th November by going to the event or tuning in on Channel 5!
Good luck to Travis from everyone at fightstore!
