Wednesday Night Sparring Class @ Millenium Gym Blyth

Wednesday Night Sparring Class Newcastle (Well just a bit North of!

If you need to sharpen your Kickboxing skills and are getting to that point with your sparring partners where you pretty much know what they’re going to do next before they do then its time to go and find some new ones.  Anyone who’s trained more than a couple of years will probably know that feeling but the quite often people will be very hesitant to turn up at a different gym for sparring on several counts. Often the idea things might be very different to their own comfort zone and that the new place will be full of knuckle draggers wanting to annihilate the offending new guy to defend their club honour will be enough to put them off combined with a feeling they may not be welcome especially if there is no real intention to actually join that group.  Luckilly this is not always the case!

I’ve known Tony Cunningham from Millenium in Blyth for a few years now and the amiable Kickboxing coach is one of the most laid back lads in the sport running a busy academy in the centre of the Northumbrian town Blyth about 15 minutes drive from Newcastle imp source.

I was needing somewhere to take a couple of my students for some variation in their sparring partners so took two of the lads up for Tony’s regular Wednesday night sparring class. We were happy to find Tony operates an open door policy with the class starting at 7pm every week.

The class was well ran with an emphasis on learning movement and good solid technical sparring increasing in intensity as the night wore on. Well structured and with a bunch of guys and gals who gave each other a lot of respect.  My guys thoroughly enjoyed the night and are keen to return in a week or two.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download

So if you are one of the people in the category mentioned at the start of this article then consider a trip up to Blyth for a great nights training at one of the friendliest clubs in the North East.

About Us

MMA in Newcastle Upon Tyne and the North East generally has grown massively over the last few years and coupled with its boxing heritage it’s truly astounding that the regions capitol city has been without a dedicated Martial Arts and Boxing store for so long. Newcastle was without an MMA store until 2011 when FIGHT STORE Newcastle opened. Since Then we have been a part of the community with the staff and owners all having been involved for many years in the sports we work for. The MMAnewcastle website was originally built purely because of the amount of inquires we received daily about where people could train. We offer our directory and events listing free to the North East Martial Arts and Boxing community and will continue to work to promote the sports we love in our region
